Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines are allegedly prepared to surrender at least 27 daily flights to European and US destinations for the approval of their proposed merger.

The two carriers are seeking approval for the merger, under which Air France will take a 37% stake in the new holding company, while KLM will hold a 19% share. European Union antitrust investigators are likely to make a decision on the merger by Wednesday (11 February).

The Dutch evening paper Het Parool claimed that both airlines will surrender the slots, however the two airlines declined to comment on the report, according to Reuters.
