European Union (EU) civil aviation officials are scheduled to meet tomorrow (16 January) to discuss the deployment of armed guards on commercial flights.
The US has asked all foreign airlines to place armed marshals on selected flights to and from the US to prevent potential terrorist attacks.
However, the request has triggered concerns over the safety of passengers if guns are brought on board aircraft, reported Reuters.
