The US Airways unit of the Air Line Pilots Association has said that cost-cutting and productivity talks with the airline may begin within the next few days.

The union - which has already agreed to major concessions in 2003 to help the airline - has been disputing details of the company's finances and business plan for months.

US Airways emerged from bankruptcy in March 2003 after eight months in Chapter 11 protection.
