Two Aeromexico flights from Mexico City to Los Angeles were cancelled last week because of US concerns about terrorism.

Flight 490 scheduled to depart on Thursday (1 January) was cancelled after US authorities told Aeromexico and the Mexican government that the flight might pose a terrorism threat. A flight with the same number was also cancelled for similar reasons on 31 December.

A third flight was also forced to return to its departure airport as authorities thought that its passengers had not been screened properly, reported The Associated Press.
