Salvage workers are thought to have detected a signal from the flight recorder of the Flash Airlines aircraft that crashed into the Red Sea on 3 January 2004, killing 148 people.
French salvage experts have reportedly caught a signal which could be from the flight recorder, but have yet to locate the device. They plan to use a submersible robot to retrieve the recorders.
In related news, Swiss inspectors allegedly found serious faults and maintenance failures in both aircraft operated by Flash Airlines in October 2002.
