AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Midwest Airlines is offering reduced fares covering travel between 18 July and 17 December 2004. The fares must be purchased by 13 July 2004 and require a seven-day advance purchase. Travel on Midwest Airlines and Midwest Connect is included in the sale.
A pilot delivering mail to four Lake Erie islands was injured on Friday (9 July) after a seagull smashed through the windshield of the twin-engine aircraft. The 1976 Brittain Norman Islander model 766 aircraft had departed from Put-in-Bay Airport on South Bass Island and was flying at 155 mph at about 800 feet when the incident occurred. The pilot landed the aircraft at Middle Bass Airport, where paramedics treated his injuries. He required 20 stitches to his face.
