Air India announces 20% passenger rise

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Air India has announced a passenger rise of 20% over the past 12 months.
A spokesperson for the airline in the Bahrain and Jordan market said that the increase in passenger numbers was down to the support of agents and the travel trade in the region and the introduction of flights to Calicut and Trivandrum.
In related news Air India has put forward a proposal for a budget airline to cover the India-Gulf region to be established in 2005, reports The Associated Press.
