AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

UK-based no-frills airline easyJet is to expand its presence in Eastern Europe with a number of new routes from 1 November 2004. The carrier will fly twice daily from Warsaw and Budapest to its Luton hub and once daily from Krakow to Dortmund and Luton and from Budapest to Newcastle, Bristol and Geneva.

Peruvian-based airline LAN Peru has added five new international routes to its Lima hub. The carrier, which is 70% owned by LAN Chile, will fly Airbus A320s to Buenos Aires, Argentina, Quito in Ecuador and Bogota, Columbia four times a week. The airline will also fly three times a week to Caracas, Venezuela and Mexico City, Mexico.

UK-based airline bmi has announced a new service from Las Vegas, USA to Manchester, UK starting on 31 October 2004. The new service will fly three times a week between the two cities with bmi offering a special introductory round-trip fare of USD499.

Delta Air Lines will offer new flights between Atlanta and Reno, Nevada, and a second daily flight between Atlanta and Honolulu, Hawaii, from 1 December 2004. The daily service between Atlanta and Reno will be flown using Boeing 757 aircraft.

Budget German airline Air Berlin is to codeshare with TUI's low-cost carrier Hapag-Lloyd. Air Berlin will increase flights to Hapag-Lloyd's Munich and Stuttgart hubs with the TUI company flying more frequently to Air Berlin's Nuremburg and Palma, Majorca hubs.
