Boeing has selected aerospace systems manufacturer Hamilton Sundstrand to provide the ram air turbine emergency power system for the new 7E7 Dreamliner aircraft.

The Connecticut-based company will provide Boeing with its ram air turbine system designed to provide electric and hydraulic power to the aircraft in the event that other power sources are disrupted.

No financial terms were disclosed.

The 7E7 was launched in April 2004, and is a family of three aircraft, all of which will use the same engine type. Boeing claims the 7E7 Dreamliner will provide passengers with a better flying experience including an improved cabin environment with more room.
