US carriers have reportedly been carrying out measures to conserve fuel due to increasing oil prices.
United Airlines' low-fare carrier, Ted, operated flights 14mph slower at cruise altitude over the Memorial Day weekend, while American Airlines' aircraft flying transatlantic flights now carry less emergency fuel to lighten their loads.
Pilots at JetBlue Airways are now using one engine instead of two to taxi along congested runways, The Associated Press reported.
