The US and China have struck a deal that will see a significant increase in the number of flights between the two countries over the next six years.

Nine airlines will now be allowed to fly to China from the US - an increase of five on the present deal - and the number of flights between the two countries will increase from 54 to 195.

The deal also means that US and Chinese carriers will be able to fly to any destination within the two countries, reports The Associated Press.
