ATA Airlines has launched its Easy Days Sale, which offers travel from USD49 between selected destinations. The fares are off-peak, each way based on a 21-day advance round trip purchase. The tickets are available for purchase until midnight EDT on 25 June 2004, covering travel until 17 November 2004.
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded Midwest Airlines the Diamond Award in its Aviation Maintenance Technician awards programme. The awards programme recognises maintenance facilities and air carriers where at least 25% of the technicians complete certified training requirements beyond their initial certification. It is the fourth year in a row Midwest Airlines has met the requirement.
A Cessna Aves 185 aircraft crashed into a lake in West Java, Indonesia on Sunday (20 June), killing all five people on board. The aircraft had reportedly departed from Lido Aerosport Club in Bogor, but crashed into the lake after developing engine problems.
Delta Air Lines is offering new and expanded options of Medallion threshold benefits for SkyMiles members in 2005. Members earning 40,000, 75,000 or 125,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQM) by the end of the 2004 calendar year will be able to choose from a variety of benefits which may include up to 45,000 bonus miles; Silver or Gold Medallion status for a friend or family member and bonus miles; Crown Room Club day passes; Discounted SkyChoice awards; and up to a 150% mileage bonus for qualifying flight activity in the first quarter of 2005.
