Singapore government warns against travel to Iraq

The Singapore government has warned its citizens against travel to Iraq following the beheading of a South Korean hostage by Islamic militants.
A foreign affairs ministry statement said: "In view of the security situation in Iraq, Singaporeans are advised not to travel or remain there."
Singaporeans residing or travelling within the region have also been advised to register with the nearest Singapore embassy or consulate.
