Officials have increased security aboard Air India flights due to intelligence reports suggesting a possible hijack attempt.

The Indian Express newspaper has reported that India's Bureau of Civil Aviation Security received intelligence reports suggesting that terrorists may attempt to hijack an Indian aircraft flying to or from the Gulf. Details about who is suspected of planning such an attack have not been revealed.
