Aeroflot expects to announce tender for new aircraft shortly

Russian carrier Aeroflot is expected to announce a tender for as many as 50 short-range aircraft this week.
The head of the airline's fleet planning department revealed that Aeroflot is looking to acquire up to 50 regional jets, each seating between 70 and 100 passengers. The airline's CEO also said that the paperwork for the tender has been completed.
The new aircraft would operate the market currently served by Aeroflot's Tu-134 aircraft as well as routes not yet operated by the carrier, reported The Associated Press.
