Skyguide reaches compensation agreement concerning 2002 mid-air collision

Switzerland's air traffic control company, Skyguide, has formed a multimillion-dollar compensation agreement with families of Russian children killed in a mid-air collision.
On 1 July 2002, a Bashkirian Airlines aircraft and a DHL International cargo aircraft collided over southern Germany. The passenger aircraft was carrying 57 passengers and 12 crew members from Moscow, Russia to Barcelona, Spain when it struck the cargo aircraft which had been travelling from Italy to Brussels, Belgium with two pilots on board.
Skyguide was in control of the aircraft at the time of the collision. Financial details of the compensation settlement have not yet been disclosed, The Associated Press reported.
