Air traffic was affected at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport yesterday morning (11 March) after a FedEx cargo aircraft blew a number of tyres whilst landing.

The Airbus A300 jumbo jet reportedly blew all eight of its rear landing gear tyres while touching down at the airport. The two pilots were forced to disembark from the aircraft via its emergency chutes.

The incident prompted officials to close down the runway and divert aircraft onto the airport's northwest-southeast runway. This led to minor delays.
