Singapore has announced plans to construct a new airport terminal at Changi Airport to cater for low-cost airlines.

Construction of the new terminal is expected to begin once the low-cost carriers agree on the design of the new terminal. In the meantime, low-cost airlines are using Changi Airport's two existing terminals.

The third terminal is to be built at a cost of SGD1.75bn, reported Reuters.
