Norwegian aviation authorities will reportedly spend NOK800m on improving security at Norwegian airports.

The new measures are expected to include screening of all passenger luggage, including hand luggage.

The new security measures are reportedly in line with the European Union's new regulations aimed at increasing preparedness against terrorism and sabotage directed at air travel.

The intensified security controls would include both domestic and international flights, reported the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten.
