Austrian Airlines purchases former American Airlines aircraft

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Austrian Airlines has purchased nine Fokker 100 aircraft, which were previously part of American Airlines' fleet.
The airline - which is planning to purchase an additional six of the Fokker 100 aircraft - will use the aircraft to expand service in the central and eastern European markets.
Austrian Airlines has also ordered two Airbus A319 aircraft, scheduled to be delivered shortly.
