Australia and the United Arab Emirates have reportedly agreed to expand their air services agreement.

The new agreement will grant Emirates Airlines, Gulf Air and Qantas Airways the right to increase flights between the two countries. Emirates will be able to expand its service between Dubai and Sydney from seven flights a week to 11 from November this year, while Gulf Air will now be able to operate up to four return flights a week between Abu Dhabi and Sydney.

The number of flights to the Middle East by Australian carriers will increase from 44 per week to 53 by March 2005, reported The Associated Press.
