An Olympic Airlines flight was forced to turn back shortly after takeoff on Sunday (21 March) due to a bomb threat.

The flight had departed from Greece's Athens airport for Johannesburg, South Africa, with 138 passengers and 12 crew members on board. However, the aircraft returned to Athens after a bomb threat was made against the flight, via a telephone call.

The aircraft continued its journey to Johannesburg later Sunday, after it was determined that there was nothing suspicious onboard, reported The Associated Press.
