AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

US Airways has extended its GoFares to cover its Philadelphia-Boston service. The GoFares on the route can be purchased from USD44 each way in Coach, and from USD299 each way for First Class travel. The permanent and simplified low fares are available on the route immediately.

The Sandpoint Air Service Committee has confirmed that air service to Sandpoint from Boise and Seattle will begin on 7 June 2004. McCall Air, based in McCall, Idaho, will provide the service with one round trip to Boise and one round trip to Seattle's Boeing Field each day of scheduled service. Flights will be offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

United Airlines has expanded its in-flight movie options. The airline will now change top-run movie titles twice a month each direction rather than once a month, on North America, Hawaii, Alaska and selected Latin America flights. A new channel called "Encore Presentations" will also be introduced, which will feature recent movies that have quickly achieved classic status.

Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation (AWAC) is to receive an Operational Excellence Award from AIG Aviation. The airline was selected for the award - which recognises those who have developed quality operational and safety procedures - for many reasons including its proactive approach to safety.

Singapore-based budget airline Valuair is scheduled to launch its maiden flight to Jakarta on 20 May 2004. The service had been scheduled to begin on 10 May, but was grounded due to an administrative error over landing rights in the Indonesian capital. The Indonesian authorities are now said to be processing the paperwork and landing rights should be granted in the next 48 hours.
