A small aircraft crashed short of a runway at Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Sunday evening (16 May).
The Beech Bonanza aircraft - registered to a Raleigh company - reportedly crashed at about 2115 local time on approach to the airport. The aircraft also knocked down power lines, which caused an hour-long power outage at the airport with flight operations halted for about half an hour.
After the area was made safe, emergency crews found one man who had been killed in the accident. Authorities saw no signs of other victims, however emergency workers are still combing the site, reported The Associated Press.
