Virgin Atlantic has reportedly delayed plans to start operating the new 555-seat Airbus A380 double-decker aircraft.

The airline has decided to delay its launch of the aircraft until late 2007 after facing difficulty with airports. Virgin is facing trouble with airports, notably Los Angeles, in making the necessary preparations to accommodate such large aircraft, and with sourcing components needed to customise the aircraft's vast cabin.

The A380 aircraft were originally scheduled to be delivered to Virgin in the summer of 2006, reported Reuters.
