The US government is to add security staff at dozens of airports to reduce long waiting lines for passengers at security checks.

Dallas-Fort Worth, Miami, New York's JFK and Washington Dulles are among airports that will get at least 100 more screeners. However, the number of screeners at other airports will be reduced to cover the extra staffing levels. Pittsburgh is expected to lose the most at 45 screeners.

The Transportation Security Administration is altering staffing levels at 445 US commercial airports to cope with the summer travel season, reported The Associated Press.
