A flight recorder from a cargo aircraft which crashed in the northwest of China on Tuesday (18 May) is to be examined by Chinese experts.
The Russian-made Il-76 cargo aircraft crashed just two minutes after take-off from the capital of Xinjiang region in northwest China. The aircraft - which belonged to a private Ukrainian air carrier - is said to have crashed into cowsheds and burst into flames after appearing to attempt an emergency landing about six miles from the airport in Urumqi. All seven crew members on board were killed.
The flight recorder has been sent to Beijing for analysis, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
