China Southern Airlines to take delivery of Chinese-made Embraer aircraft

China Southern Airlines is reportedly scheduled to take delivery of the first Chinese-made Embraer regional jet aircraft.
The carrier will take delivery of the ERJ145 aircraft next month, with a further five aircraft to be delivered between July 2004 and January 2005. Further details concerning the cost of the aircraft or the routes they will operate have not yet been released.
The aircraft delivery is said to mark a new step in China's bid to become a regional aircraft manufacturer.
