AirAsia, a Malaysian budget carrier, has reportedly proposed setting up a separate terminal for low cost carriers at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The airline - which carried 1.8m passengers in 2003 and aims to increase that number to 3.2m this year - is said to be proposing a low cost terminal as existing terminals at the airport are getting crowded.

Gulf Air is planning to offer a daily nonstop service between Muscat and London next month. The new service is scheduled to commence on 21 June 2004 and will increase the number of Gulf Air flights between the Gulf and London each week to 34.

Delta Air Lines yesterday (26 May) celebrated its 75th anniversary of passenger air service at Salt Lake City International Airport. The airline's first passenger service took off from Dallas' Love Field to Jackson, Miss., with a six-seat Travel Air on 17 June 1929. The carrier began offering air service in Salt Lake City on 28 April 1980, with four daily flights to Atlanta, Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth and Reno, Nev.

United Airlines has donated 50 tickets to San Jose veterans, their families and a team of local student documentarians to travel to the dedication of the National World War II Memorial Dedication in Washington, DC this weekend. Local high school students from "Stories of Service" - a national initiative dedicated to mobilizing young people to serve their communities by helping preserve the stories of America's veterans - will film veterans over the course of the weekend and create documentaries based on their experiences.
