Singapore Airlines to sell used Boeing aircraft

Singapore Airlines has announced that it is to sell four of its Boeing 747-400 aircraft which are currently leased to other airlines.
The airline would not comment on the age of each aircraft but when new the 747-400 are worth around USD213m each. Singapore Airlines operates one of the youngest fleets in the industry with an average age of just five years.
Singapore Airlines reported a 17% rise in quarterly net profit on 28 October 2004 and also sold and leased back a Boeing 777-300 aircraft, reports Reuters.
