Scandinavian airline SAS has resumed flights to and from Copenhagen airport after a seven-hour wildcat strike by cabin crew forced it to ground 139 flights from 0600 local time.

Over 4,500 passengers were left stranded after SAS cabin crew took action over fears that a new seniority system introduced by the airline would make it easier for them to be fired.

The seven-hour strike took place at Scandinavia's busiest airport and affected mostly domestic, Scandinavian and European flights. Flights to the US and Asia were not affected as they are staffed by Swedish and Norwegian staff, reports The Associated Press.
