Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) has started offering an on-board Internet connection on its flights between Narita, Japan and Shanghai, China.

Passengers who want to take advantage of the new service will pay a flat rate of USD14.95 charged to their credit cards, according to the airline. The service will allow passengers to access Internet and e-mail through an in-flight local access network (LAN), with upper class passengers allowed to use LAN cables and power sockets.

ANA said that it hopes to have the service available on flights from Narita to European destinations during its fiscal year 2005, reports Kyodo News.
