A passenger aircraft belonging to the Turkish carrier MNG Airlines with 150 people on board was forced to make an emergency landing in Romania after a smoke alarm was triggered.

The alarm went off over Hungary as the aircraft was making its way to Anatalya, Turkey from Hamburg in Germany with a passenger load comprising mainly of German tourists. The pilot was forced to request an emergency landing at Romania's Timisoara international airport.

Emergency services met the aircraft at the airport, where it made a safe landing. No injuries were reported but several passengers were treated for panic attacks. The aircraft was checked by authorities but nothing amiss was discovered, reports The Associated Press.
