Around 20 flights from Chicago's Midway Airport were grounded on 15 November 2004 after an undisclosed security problem.
Annette Martinez, spokesperson for the Chicago Aviation Department, said that 20 aircraft were kept on the ground and passengers in the airport's terminals were told to evacuate. Martinez added that passengers on a further 20 aircraft were not allowed to disembark after an incident at a Transport Security Administration checkpoint.
Martinez refused to go into detail about the incident. Passengers were rescreened before being allowed to return to their gates, reports The Associated Press.
