Ecuadorian state airline TAME Linea Aerea del Ecuador has signed a letter of intent with Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer for seven of its EMBRAER 170/190 regional jets.

TAME will acquire two 70-seat 170 aircraft and one 98-seat 190 aircraft with the other four aircraft being held as options that can be called in at a later date. TAME's CEO Jorge Cabezas Quiroz said that the signing of the document will start a legal process that the airline must follow before purchasing the aircraft.

A spokesperson for Embraer said that it was very proud that TAME had chosen it to participate in Ecuador's policy of national integration and that its EMBRAER 170/190 aircraft will be a vital part of TAME's plans and objectives.
