Mexico's Mexicana Airlines has become the latest airline to introduce automatic public access defibrillators (AEDs) on its commercial passenger aircraft after signing a deal with defibrillator manufacturer Cardiac Science.
The airline will install 60 AEDs across its commercial passenger fleet and joins other carriers including Skywest Airlines, Japan Airlines and Malev in using Cardiac Science products.
A spokesperson for Cardiac Science said that the AEDs would be used on both domestic and international flights and would reassure passengers that they are well protected if they suffer a cardiac arrest.
