Industry analysts say Gulf passenger traffic is world's fastest growing

Aviation in the Gulf is growing at such a rate that it now has the fastest growing rate of passenger traffic in the world according to industry analysts.
Aviation industry representatives in the Middle East are set to discuss the issues surrounding this rapid growth at the Middle East Airports conference in Bahrain on 29-30 November 2004. With international carriers including Qatar Airways, Emirates Airlines and Etihad Airways all embarked on ambitious expansion plans including the introduction of the new Airbus A380 superjumbo, the conference will be discussing how best to improve the industry's infrastructure and ground services in the region.
The conference's keynote speaker, CEO of Gulf Air James Hogan, has said that improvements in security, comfort and efficiency need to made at Middle Eastern airports to cope with all the new business. The Bahrain Department of Civil Aviation said that the demand for new infrastructure is a massive challenge not just for airlines but also civil aviation authorities across the region, reports AME Info.
