Flights at Reno-Tahoe International Airport were delayed and cancelled on 3 November 2004 due to faulty bad weather navigation equipment.
The airport stopped arrivals and departures at around 1430 (local time), delaying over a dozen flights before the Federal Aviation Administration managed to repair the fault. The five-hour stoppage may affect flights for the next 24 hours and passengers have been told to contact their airline to get the latest flight information.
A spokesperson for the airport said that flights were halted due to a fault in equipment used when visibility is poor and pilots need to make instrument guided landings, reports The Associated Press.
