Alaska Air Group reports rise in October passenger traffic

The Alaska Air Group, which owns both Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines, has announced that its passenger traffic for October 2004 has risen year-on-year.

Alaska Airlines flew 1.251bn revenue passenger miles, up 11.1% from October 2003, with available seat miles rising 4.6% to 1.802bn. The airline's load factor for October 2004 increased by four percentage points to 69.4% over the same period in 2003 with 1,270,700 passengers carried.

Horizon Air's October 2004 traffic rose by 30% compared to October 2003 with the airline flying 180.8m revenue passenger miles. Horizon Air's available seat miles in October 2004 increased from 210.8m in October 2003 to 266.6m in October 2004. Its load factor after carrying 512,300 passengers rose to 67.8%, up from 66.0% a year earlier.
