Boeing to complete 500th 777 aircraft

US aircraft manufacturer Boeing has announced that the main body of its 500th 777 series aircraft has been completed at its production plant in Everett, Washington and will be delivered to Air France in December 2004.
The first 777 was completed in May 1995 and the model has reached the 500 mark quicker than any other twin-aisle aircraft in commercial aviation history according to Boeing.
The 777 holds a 65% market share in twin-aisle aircraft with 642 aircraft having been ordered by 37 customers worldwide.
