Midwest Airlines announces drop in monthly traffic

Midwest Airlines has reported its first drop in passenger traffic in 2004 after it flew 185.3m revenue passenger miles in October 2004, down from 187.7m in October 2003.

The airline said that despite an increase in capacity over October 2003 the airline carried 184,913 passengers in October 2004, down from 186,500 during the same period in 2003. Midwest Airlines' load factor fell from 67.3% in October 2003 to 65% in October 2004.

The carrier's regional and connection service Midwest Connect however reported an increase in both revenue passenger miles, from 16.9m to 19.8m, and load factor which increased by 5.6 percentage points to 61.9% for October 2004, reports Business Journal.
