Delta Air Lines' decision to pull out most of its services from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) may leave the door open for Southwest Airlines to fill the gap.

Southwest Airlines' CEO Gary Kelly said that the carrier was monitoring the situation and was looking to see what services were going to be started and by whom. Kelly did however reaffirm the airline's commitment to its current regional base at Love Field.

The attraction for Southwest Airlines is that by flying from DFW it would not be restricted on how far its aircraft can fly from the airport like it is at Love Field, reports The Associated Press.
