AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
UK engine maker Rolls-Royce has announced a USD1bn deal to supply engines to Japan's All Nippon Airways for the airline's 50 new Boeing 7E7 aircraft.
All Nippon Airways said that it selected Rolls-Royce's Trent 1000 engine due to its impressive safety, reliability and fuel efficiency performance. The deal could yet become even bigger as the USD1bn price tag does not include the through-life maintenance costs.
The 50 Boeing 7E7 aircraft were ordered by All Nippon Airways in April 2004 and will come into service in 2008, reports Newratings.com.
