Goodrich to supply engine control system for Rolls-Royce's Trent 1000 7E7 engine

UK engine maker Rolls-Royce has announced that Goodrich Corp will provide it with the engine control system for its new Trent 1000 engine designed for use with Boeing's 7E7 aircraft.

Goodrich is expected to make USD1bn in original equipment and sales from the deal, with a spokesperson for Goodrich saying that it has been able to continue its long-standing partnership with Rolls-Royce and be involved with the 7E7 aircraft.

The engine control system is comprised of an Engine Electronic Control Unit, a Hydro-Mechanical Fuel Metering Unit, Fuel Pump, Fuel Actuators, a Permanent Magnet Alternator and a Clutch Actuation Valve and will be designed and built in Birmingham, UK.
