Japan's All Nippon Airways has reported a 33.9% year-on-year growth in passenger traffic for the April to September 2004 period, showing signs of recovery following the 2003 SARS outbreak.

Despite the overall growth in passenger numbers the airline reported that domestic passenger traffic was down 1.6% compared to 2003. Foreign passenger traffic has recovered well from the steep decline in the April-September 2003 period however, leading to the overall increase.

All Nippon Airways also reported an increase in cargo carried, with cargo on domestic flights rising by 4.3% and on international flights by 8.7% over the same period in 2003, reports AFX.
