Corporate Airlines crash kills eight, five still missing

A small commuter aircraft carrying 15 passengers and crew has crashed just outside of Kirksville Regional Airport in Missouri where it was due to land.

The Jetstream 32 twin-engine turboprop aircraft was being operated by Corporate Airlines, an affiliate of American Airlines, and was on a flight between St Louis and Kirksville when it crashed four miles south of the airport. At least eight people are dead with five still missing and two in a serious condition at a hospital in Kirksville, according to Adair County Chief Deputy Larry Logston.

Corporate Airlines CEO Doug Caldwell said that the crash was the company's first fatal accident at that it was trying to reach the families of those involved. Caldwell said in a statement to the press that Corporate Airlines expresses in deepest sympathies to the families of the passengers involved, reports The Associated Press.
