Indonesia's state-owned PT Merpati Nusantara Airline (MNA) has been told by the country's State Treasury Director General Mulia P Nasution that it should sell off some of its assets to improve its cash flow.

Mulia recommended that the airline sell aircraft including a Boeing 737-200 and a Fokker passenger jet and use leased aircraft more efficiently.

The struggling airline has to submit a new business plan to the country's House of Representatives so its restructuring plan can be approved, reports Asia Pulse.
