A bmibaby flight heading for Paris, France from Cardiff International Airport in Wales had to make an emergency landing almost immediately after takeoff after it struck a bird.
The budget carrier's Boeing 737 aircraft carrying 127 passengers returned to Cardiff airport only a few minutes after taking off at 0730 local time and landed safely without further incident.
A spokesperson for the airport confirmed that the aircraft had hit a bird and that emergency services were put on stand-by but were not needed. bmibaby said that passengers would resume their journey on a replacement aircraft, reports The Associated Press.
