Scandinavian airline SAS Group said on Thursday (21 October) that it was leasing a Boeing 767 through its cooperation within the Star Alliance for its winter traffic programme from 30 October 2004 to 26 March 2005.

The United Airlines Boeing 767 would operate on the Copenhagen-Washington route, with an SAS flight number and SAS station service, but with a crew from United Airlines.

With the additional capacity SAS can fly daily to New York from Stockholm and Copenhagen, while increasing flights from Copenhagen to Shanghai from three to six days per week, according to the company.

SAS also said that it was installing Internet access on board all of its 11 Airbus A330/A340s during the winter, making SAS the first airline to offer Internet access on board all long-haul aircraft.
