Skywest announces rise in passenger traffic

Australian low-cost carrier Skywest has announced that its passenger numbers have risen by 65% in 2004 thanks to a rise in tourist demand in Western Australia.

A spokesperson for the airline said that while its core market is still government and business travellers Skywest has now changed its strategy and is focused on growing the tourism market in Western Australia.

Skywest has also announced that it is to list on the Australian stock market in November 2004 after launching its prospectus on 21 October 2004, reports ABC News.
